On June 18, 2025, the IIBA Denmark Chapter hosted its first event, which focused on trends in business analysis and on knowledge sharing among the participants. Thank you to all the participants for engaging in the discussion about current trends and for sharing your perspectives.

1. Embracing Generative AI and Emerging Technologies
From automating repetitive tasks to enhancing decision-making through predictive modeling, AI is becoming a core part of the BA toolkit. Analysts are now expected to understand AI fundamentals, leverage automation tools, and ensure transparency through explainable AI. In fact, much of this article was written by AI based on the presentation from the event.
 
2. Putting the Customer First
Business analysts are increasingly responsible for translating customer feedback into actionable insights. Skills in journey mapping and user-centered design are becoming essential. The goal is to create seamless, data-informed customer experiences that drive loyalty and satisfaction.
 
3. Data Strategy and Analytics as Strategic Drivers
With data volumes growing exponentially, business analysts are stepping into roles that demand strong data literacy. They are guiding organizations in aligning data initiatives with business goals, ensuring data quality, and visualizing insights in real time. This shift empowers BAs to support smarter, faster decision-making.
 
4. Sustainability, Privacy, and Ethics
There is a growing demand for professionals who can integrate sustainability goals into business processes, navigate complex data privacy regulations like GDPR, and uphold ethical standards in AI and data use. Analysts are becoming stewards of responsible innovation.
 
5. Agile Evolution
Agile methodologies continue to dominate, but the frameworks are evolving. Business analysts are expected to play a central role in agile teams—prioritizing backlogs, modeling value, and fostering shared understanding across stakeholders.
 
6. Upskilling and Expanding the BA Role
The business analyst of today is a strategic partner, not just a requirements gathererCollaboration across departments and a commitment to continuous learning are key to staying relevant in this dynamic field.
 
7. Cybersecurity as a Core Competency
With digital threats on the rise, cybersecurity is now a critical focus for business analysts. From embedding security into system design to developing risk assessment frameworks, BAs are playing a proactive role in protecting data and ensuring compliance. Collaboration with IT and security teams is essential to this mission.
